Lilly Mae Riggs Light

Lilly Mae Riggs Light, 72, of Burlington passed away peacefully at the Hospice Home on Monday, April 5, 2021 at 5:24 a.m.

Born in Alamance County on May 10, 1948, she was the wife of 52 ½ years to Gerald Lee Light, who survives and the daughter of Stephen Felix Riggs and Minnie Truitt Riggs, both deceased. She was formerly employed for 36 years with Lemco Mills. Lilly was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church.
Lilly will be deeply missed by everyone. She had a heart of gold and would do anything for you. She sent cards for all occasions to lots of people. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
In addition to her husband of their home, survivors include a daughter, Renee Light Medley of Saxapahaw; grandson, Michael Wayne Medley, Jr. of Graham; four sisters, Linda Fay Stanley and husband Ed of Burlington, Carol Moore and husband Bruce of Sanford, Nancy Turner of Burlington, and Jane Clapp of Gibsonville; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Riggs and two sisters, Florence Light and Judy Handy.
The family will receive friends at Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Thursday, April 8, 2021 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.
A graveside service will be conducted at Friendship United Methodist Church Cemetery on Friday, April 9, 2021 at 4:00 p.m.
Memorials may be made to AuthoraCare Collective Hospice, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
The family would like to thank Dr. B and all the nurses, and would also like to thank all the staff at the Hospice Home.
