LIBERTY - Bettie Jane Holden Layton, 91, of Liberty, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 30, 2021 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. and funeral service at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 7, 2021 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Liberty. The burial will be following the service at Smithwood Christian Church Cemetery.
Bettie was the daughter of the late Algernon PorterHolden andMaude EdwardsHolden, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Armp Junior Layton; daughter and son, MartiWells and Dwight Layton.
She leaves behind her son, Doug Layton (Susan); grandchildren, Casie Hiester (James), Paul Wells (Emily), Amber Cox (Adam), and Alexander Layton (Stephanie); and great-grandchildren, ZoeyWells, ZacharyWells, ZuriWells, Alexandra Layton, Holden Hiester, and Cole Hiester.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church, POBox 280, Alamance, NC 27201 or Smithwood Christian Church, 6809 Kimesville Road, Liberty, NC 27298.
