Charlie Ralph “Butch” McLendon II, 77 went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 4, 2022 at the Hospice Home. He was a native of Alamance County and the husband of 47 years to Diane Whitt McLendon and the son of the late Ralph and Veda Marie Rabon McLendon.
Butch retired as a Master Sergeant after 38 years with the US Army National Guard. He enjoyed hunting and fishing throughout his life. Butch was a patriot at heart and he loved his family and friends.
He is survived by his step son, Jay (Sherri) Curtis of Graham; grandchildren, Hunter, Madeline and Grayson Curtis; sister, Tamara Cannon and her husband, Skip; niece, Elizabeth (Kevin) Stump and a nephew, Greg (Tanya) Isley; special cousin, Neal Gwynn and special friends, Ray and Maxine Sharpe, Stephen and Kris Moon and Susan Cobb. He was preceded in death by his wife and his parents.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00am, Friday, July 8, 2022 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Walter Jones. The burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:45am prior to the service. The service will be live streamed on the funeral home website below
