Obituary Online notes for Irene STRADER
DENTON - Irene Strader Smith, 97, of Mountain Vista Health Park, formerly of Glenn Street, died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2003, at Mountain Vista.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Denton Wesleyan Church, where she was the last charter member, with the Rev. Charles Moses officiating. Burial will be in Denton Town Cemetery.

She was a native of Rockingham County, the widow of W. Frank Smith Sr. and a homemaker.

Surviving are sons, W. Frank Smith Jr., Archie Smith and Richard Smith, all of Denton, Roger Smith of Asheboro; daughters, Peggy S. Briles of Archdale, Doloris S. Briles of Denton; 19 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Briggs Funeral Home, Denton, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, other times at the home of Doloris Briles, Mountain Shore Drive, Denton.
