BURLINGTON - Mr. Larry R. Phillips, 81, of Burlington, passed away Sunday, November 14, 2021 at his residence.
A native of Alamance County, Larry was the husband of Jewel Mc-Gowan Phillips, who survives, and son of the late George Russell Phillips and Annie Combs Phillips Doss. Larry was a former employee of Burlington Industries, a member of Shamrock Evangelical Methodist Church, and a former E. M. Holt volunteer fireman.
Surviving, other than his wife of the home, are a daughter, Lori Sammarco and husband John of Raleigh; two grandchildren, Jennifer Farrell and Justin Farrell; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Sandra Cook of Graham and Sue Blanks of Gold Hill. Mr. Phillips was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce McGowan and a brother, Earl K. Phillips.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, November 18, at the Rich& Thompson Chapel with Pastor Brian Warlaw and Pastor Lionell Burgaw officiating. Burial will follow atAlamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM, prior to the service.
