He married Lillian Arealane V. Woodyard, known as Avey (born 28 NOV 1869 in Jonesville, VA) on September 9, 1897. They had two children: Adolphus Moles (born 1898 in Hubbard Springs, VA) and Ruth Moles (born abt. 1904 in Hubbard Springs, VA).
At age 32, (himself, being a widower), he married Delina M. Bays (a widow of age 41) on April 29, 1911.
In the 1920 Census, Charles (age 42) is listed with wife Delina (age 50), and children Dolph (age 21), Ruth (age 15), Stepson Charles Ely (25), stepdaughter Bessie Ely (age 20), grandstepdaughter Hazel Bishop (age 8) and his mother Sarah Moles (age 74, though she was actually 84 at the time).
