BURLINGTON - Mrs. Ruth Wyrick Phillips, 84, of 210 Springwood Drive, died at 9:30 p.m. Saturday. March 31, 2007, at Greensboro Manor in Greensboro. Phillips was the wife of the late James D. Phillips Sr., and daughter of the late Lonnie L Wyrick and Annie Brown Wyrick. She was a homemaker and member of Zion Christian Church, where she served as secretary of the Womans Fellowship for 21 years. Survivors include her son James D. Phillips Jr. and his wife Becky of High Point; brother Hosea M. Wyrick and wife Nancy of Elon; stepgrand-daughter Ashley Simpson; step great grandchildren Chandler Simpson, Sam Simpson V and Isabelle Simpson; sisters-in-law Helen Holland and husband Dink, Erma Dell Neal and Faye Phillips; and brother-in-law, the Rev. G M. "Jack” Phillips Jr. and wife Kathryn. Besides her husband and parents, Phillips was preceded in death by her brother Ervin Wyrick, sisters in law Pearl Terrell, Opal Greeson, Jean Witherow and Mexie Wyrick; and brothers-in-law Billie Phillips and Carey Phillips. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p m Tuesday April 3, 2007, at Zion Christian Church in Burlington by the Rev. G.M. “Jack” Phillips Jr. and the Rev. Jeanne Neal. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at McClure Funeral Service in Graham today, April 2, 2007, and other times at the residence. Memorials may be made to Zion Christian Church in memory of Mrs. Ruth Phillips at 2262 Burch Bridge Rd. Burlington, N.C. 27217.
