Richard "Rick" Arlen Longest, Jr.

Graham-Richard “Rick” Arlen Longest, Jr. 68 went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at his home with his wife by his side.
He was born October 10, 1956 to the late Richard Arlen Longest, Sr. and Wanda Grey Hughes Longest.
He was the husband of 4 years to Sherrie Lassiter Longest who survives.
Richard was of the Baptist faith and a 1974 graduate of Hugh H. Cummings High School. He was a welder and engineer for Southern Pride Car Wash traveling over 43 states and 3 countries. He also worked in the heating and air business. Richard had many hobbies, including building model airplanes, reading, boating, fishing, tinkering and fixing with various projects. He enjoyed grilling out with family and friends and was a Ham and CB radio operator.
Survivors include his wife, Sherrie L. Longest of the home; grandchildren, Shea and Keith Tidwell; brother, Eric Longest and wife, Patricia of Graham; a niece and several great nephews; his fur babies, Bella, Mr. Grey and Popeye.
He was preceded in death by his parents; late wife, Karen Stewart Longest; daughters, Tiffany Longest Tidwell and Sara Longest.
A service to celebrate his life will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at 3:00PM at Zion Christian church, 2262 Burch Bridge Road, Burlington, NC 27217 by Pastor Bob LaTour and Evangelist Rodney Murray.
The family will receive friends at the home after the service, 207 Clapp Street, Graham, NC 27253.
A special thanks to the nurses and staff of Authoracare Hospice, WellCare Homecare, ACTA Transportation and Pastor Bob and Jane LaTour for all their kindness and support for Rick and Sherrie.
