Mark Lewis Hopkins, Sr.
December 24, 1929 ~ December 18, 2021 (age 91)
Mark Lewis Hopkins, Sr., 91, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 18, 2021.
He was born in Alamance County to the late Grover Lewis Hopkins, Sr. and Dessie Leona Morene Hopkins.
Mark was married for over 70 years to Vivian Horton Hopkins who survives.
He worked for Cone Mills for over 30 years and attended The Gathering. He enjoyed woodworking, making special items for his family and remodeling his own home several times. Mark was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother who truly enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Vivian Horton Hopkins; children, Mark L. Hopkins, Jr. (Jean), Ann Nutter (Roger), Earl Hopkins, Cynthia Jones (C.W.) and Kenneth Hopkins (Peggy); 16 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; siblings, Davie Carr Hopkins, Grace Leona Hopkins Rhodes and Bennie Lee Hopkins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Clifton Ray Hopkins; grandsons, Daniel Lee Hopkins and Jeffrey Lee Hopkins; and siblings, Martin Luther Hopkins, Delinda Jane Hopkins Duckworth and Grover Lewis Hopkins, Jr.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. John Shields with burial to follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:45–1:45 Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the service. 3, Mark Lewis Hopkins, Sr.
