Peggy Hoke (Craddock) Simmons
October 17, 1937 ~ January 5, 2022 (age 84)
Peggy Joyce Craddock Hoke Simmons, 84, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 5, 2021 at White Oak Manor. A native of Alamance County, she was born October 17, 1937 to the late Walter Ernest Craddock and Annie Bell Ervin Laney Craddock and was the wife of Bennie Leon Simmons of the home.
Peggy was a longtime member of Altamahaw Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She was employed with Nationwide Insurance for over 30 years and later retired from Johnson & Associates. Peggy enjoyed flower gardening, shopping and bus trips with her friends. She would write poems and programs for the children and the family at Christmas time. These are special memories the family will forever cherish.
Survivors include her husband, Bennie; sons, D’Neil Hoke and Tonee Hoke (Tanya); step daughter, June Simmons Parrish (Jerry); grandchildren, Sunday Hoke, Brandon Hoke and Taylor Hoke; step grandchildren, Devin Burns and Ashlee Parrish; step great grandchildren, Mattison Parrish, Grayson Burns and Killian Burns and a sister, Lucille Craddock Hensley. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Elva Grace Craddock Ring and Lois Laney Brown and a brother, Arnold Laney.
A service to celebrate her life will be held 2:00pm on Saturday, January 8, 2021 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Steve Tucker with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. She will be available for viewing from 9:30-1:45 on Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Altamahaw Baptist Church, 3445 Altamahaw Church St, Elon, NC 27244.
