Ronald “Ron” Eric Tillman, 74, passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Alamance Regional Medical Center surrounded by his adopted family. He was born on November 14, 1947 in Alamance County to the late Charlie Morris Tillman and Christine Cantrell Tillman.
Ron retired after 20 years with the City of Burlington, Animal Control Department. He was a member of the Celebrate Church of The Nazarene; was very active for over 50 years with the Boy Scouts of America and was currently a commissioner. Ron just enjoyed being around people, eating meals with family and friends and being involved with the scouts.
Ron is survived by a brother, Keith Tillman and wife Joyce Dreyfus; his life partner of 30 years, Kena Miles and her children, Michelle Reeves and husband Curtis, Melanie Jarvis and husband Jeff, Matthew Miles and Mark Miles; grandchildren, Austin Reeves and wife Claire, Brian Reeves, Erin Reeves, Jason Reeves and Nathan Reeves; and several cousins.
The funeral service will be held at Celebrate Church of The Nazarene at 2:00pm Sunday, January 16, 2022 by Pastor Dale Bailey with the burial to follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00PM-1:45PM Sunday at the church prior to the service.
