Anne Taylor Hilliard passed away on June 10, 2019 surrounded by her two daughters and husband. She was born on June 21, 1931 in Morgantown, West Virginia. Prior to her retirement, she spent her career in the medical technology field and as a teacher at Elon College. She was preceded in death by her parents, JB and Carolyn Taylor; sisters Ruth Taylor and Patsy Sawyer; and grandson, Thomas Henry Padgett.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-two years, Henry F. Hilliard; children, Bryan (Brenda) Hilliard, Tate (Angela Little) Hilliard, Wendy (Glenn Coley) Hilliard, and Tracy (Kip) Padgett. Her grandchildren: Nick Gallagher, Nicole (Oscar Store) Gallagher, Emma Potzner and Cole Padgett; great-grandchildren; Jackson Kelly. She is also survived by a brother, Bedford Taylor.
In addition, Mrs. Hilliard is survived by step-children: Dorothy (Richard) Rohrer, Burnice (Teresa) Hilliard, H. F. Hilliard, Jr. and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Blaylock Funeral Home from 5 PM - 6:30 PM on Thursday, June 13th, 2019. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Community Home Care and Hospice.
