Burlington–Elizabeth Pickard Roupe, 90, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at the HomePlace of Burlington. Lib was born in Burlington, NC on April 14, 1931 to the late John D. Pickard and Margaret Y. Pickard and was the wife of the late Clifton F. Roupe.
She retired from General Electric Co. in Mebane, NC after 25 years of service. She then began her second career, pouring her energy into charity work at Alamance Regional Medical Center and Hospice of Alamance. When she wasn’t volunteering, you could find her line dancing or traveling across the country. She also loved and served Jesus and her church throughout her life and was a member of Glen Hope Baptist Church for more than 60 years.
More than anything she cherished her family and was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her sons, Ronnie Roupe, and wife Trisha, and Tim Roupe, and wife Donna; grandchildren, Lindsay Abrams, and husband Ryan, Courtney Roupe, Rachel Lerner, and husband Marcus Layher, and Ryan Lerner. She is survived by one brother, George Richard Pickard. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton F. Roupe, parents, John D. Pickard and Margaret Y. Pickard and three brothers, John Donald Pickard, Herbert David Pickard and Bobby York Pickard.
John 11:25 - Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.”
The funeral will be held 11:00 AM Friday at Lowes Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Stevenson. The family will receive friends from 9:45-10:45am prior to the service. The burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery.
