November 4, 1941 ~ February 26, 2022 (age 80)
On February 26, 2022, Phyllis Evans Corbett was escorted by a band of angels to be with the Lord.
Born to the late Lawrence and Ethyln Evans in Graham, NC, she is survived by sons Zane Evans Corbett (Diane) of Chapel Hill and Jarad Scott Corbett (Kerrie) of Burlington and her three precious granddaughters Ceara Corbett, Emma Corbett and Madalyn Corbett.
Other survivors include her sisters Mary Pat Johnson and Carol Steele (David); brothers-in-law Billy Corbett (Dorothy) and Al Corbett (Lynnette) and numerous nieces and nephews. Very special friends include members of Union Ridge Chancel Choir, Ridge Morning Circle and Seekers Sunday School Class.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Bobby P. Corbett; infant brother Lawrence
Eugene Evans, Jr.; brothers-in-law Joseph Johnson, Hassell Corbett, Jr. (Becky) and sister-in-law, Peggy Thompson (Percy).
Phyllis was a member of Union Ridge Church where she was a member of the choir, Ridge Morning Circle and Seekers Sunday School Class. She delivered Meals on Wheels and was Treasurer of the Church Food Pantry.
After retiring from Labcorp, she served as a Guardian Ad Litem for the Juvenile Court System.
Phyllis graduated from Graham High School, attended American University in Washington, DC and was an Emergency Medical Technician.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at Union Ridge Church in Burlington on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Union Ridge Church or AuthoraCare Collective (authoracare.org) for their amazing hospice care.
