January 16, 1940 ~ March 12, 2022 (age 82)
Peggy Ann Rowland Walters, 82, of Mebane passed away suddenly at her residence on Saturday, March 12, 2022.
Peggy was born in Alamance County and raised at the Elon Home for Children. She was the wife of the late Howard Duane “Gropup” Walters and the daughter of George Rowland and Mary Louise Johnson Rowland, both deceased.
Peggy retired from Kayser-Roth after 40 plus years. She was a member of Hawfields Presbyterian Church and enjoyed volunteering at the Hospice Flea market for many years.
Peggy is survived by her sister, JoAnn Rowland Jordan; sister, Linda Rowland Douglas and her husband Bill; step-sister, Mannie Richardson and many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Jean Rowland Robertson; brother, Thomas George Rowland, step-brother, Robert Gibson and a step-sister, Nannie Overman.
A funeral service will be held at Hawfields Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at 2:00 pm with the family receiving friends an hour prior at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
