James Richard Crumpton
May 15, 1939 ~ April 21, 2025 (age 85)

James Richard Crumpton, 85 of Snow Camp passed away peacefully at home on April 21, 2025 while surrounded by his family.
James was born in Alamance County on May 15, 1939, son of the late Onnie Odell Crumpton and Grace Ann Shelton Crumpton.
He was the owner and operator of Crumpton's Upholstery and was a US Air Force veteran serving as a Military Policeman and K9 handler during the Korean Conflict era.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Raymond, FayDean, Warren Donald (Sonny) Nina Jean, and Sue Carol.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 64 years, Shirley Ann Sorenson Crumpton are five children, Valerie Buckner (Clark), Kirstene Forsyth, Deidre Davidson (Jeff), Adrienne "Michelle" Talley (Jay) and James Crumpton, Jr. (Cheryl); eleven grandchildren, Lisa, Robbie, David, Austin, Timothy, Sean, Baylee, Chris, Wyatt, Jesse and Dalton; fourteen great grandchildren; his brother Ralph Douglas Crumpton; and his sister Linda May Bryant (Burney).
A celebration of life service will be held at 1 pm on Friday, May 9, 2025 at Omega Funeral Service & Crematory Chapel. Full military honors will follow the service at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 1 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family greatly appreciates memorials made in James' memory to Tunnel to Towers Foundation 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, New York 10306, St. Jude's Children's Hospital or to Wounded Warrior Project 4899 Belfort Road Suite 300 Jacksonville, Florida 32256
