Mrs. Hope Eleen Amick Gregory of Burlington passed away into God's loving arms on Saturday, October 3, 2015 after a decade long battle with Alzheimer's.

Hope was born in Columbia, S.C. on April 19, 1955.

She was the wife of Gary Gregory, who survives and the daughter of John L. and Billie Amick.

Hope graduated from Western Alamance High School and Elon University.

She taught at Western Middle School for 26 years and was a majorette while at Elon. Hope was a former North Carolina Baton Twirling State Champion and taught dance at Eloise Glass Studios. For years she gave halftime baton twirling performances at local high school football games.

She was a Sunday School teacher and heavily involved with church activities including the choir and Vacation Bible School at First Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. Hope was a kind, gentle, compassionate, loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was loyal and uplifting to all who called her friend. Hope is very much loved and will always be remembered.

In addition to her husband, survivors include a son, Benjamin Gregory, stepson Christopher Gregory and wife Reba of Rossville, Georgia; six grandchildren, Michaela, Christopher, Ella, Lydia, Anna and Abigail, father, John L. Amick and a brother, Gray Amick and wife Heather of Greensboro.
