GIBSONVILLE - Edith Underwood Combs, 88, of 230 Brown’s Chapel Rd. passed away Thursday, August 18, 2016 at her home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 21, 2016 at Camp Springs United Methodist Church with Rev. Laura Dunlap officiating and burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A native of Caswell Co., she was a daughter of the late Charlie Boyd and Lillian Grace Gwynn Underwood and had lived in the Cherry Grove Community mostofher life.
She was a home maker and a member of Camp Springs United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Combs was preceded in death by her brothers, Billy Underwood and Owen Underwood.
Surviving is her husband, Robert T. Combs of the home; sons, Larry W. Combs (Peggy) of Burlington and Tony B. Combs (Gail) of Reidsville; sister, Bernice U. Matkins (Joe) of Burlington; grandchildren, Kathy Jolley (Bobby), Cindy Collins (Jason), Crystal Clapp (Franklin); step-grandchildren, Teresa Doss (Rodney), Angie Dixon (Clay), Kim Moore (Tim); seven great-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; six great-greatgrandchildren; and three step great-great-grandchildren.
The family will see friends from 6 p.m. till 8 p.m. Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Citty Funeral Home and at other times they will be at the residence.
