Sandra Gwynn King

November 23, 1964 ~ April 23, 2021 (age 56)

Elon – Sandra Gwynn King, 56, died peacefully on Friday, April 23, 2021 at the Hospice Home. She was a native of Alamance County and the daughter of the late Johnny Lawrence and Mildred Kernodle Gwynn.

Sandra was a registered Dental Hygienist for the office of Dr. Danny Whitsett and more recently she also worked in the office of Dr. Richard Dailey. During the weekends and Holidays Sandra also worked for the Gibsonville parks and Recreation Department.

During her earlier professional years Sandra traveled extensively around the US as a demonstration representative of the Monarch Archery Company.

Later in life Sandra enjoyed worldwide travel visiting the Bahamas, England, France, Germany, Italy and Switzerland. She visited many of these countries’ multiple times.

Sandra is survived by her special friend, Ernie Farley; son, Will King and fiance’ Esther; daughter, Melissa Lee and husband, Josh; grandchildren, Makayla, Kensie and Harper Lee and Jonah and one on the way; brothers, Terry Gwynn and wife, Joyce and John Gwynn; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Anita Hogan and nephew, Collin Gwynn.

Special thanks to the staff and nurses of the Hospice Home, Becky Lowry, Crystal Hogan, Erin Hensley and Hannah Gwynn for their loving care in the final weeks of her life.

A service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 2:00pm at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Authoracare Hospice, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
