Frankie E. Stanley, 99, formerly of Old Newfound Road, Leicester, died Friday, April 19, 2002, at the Rickman Center, WNC Baptist Retirement Home.

Mrs. Stanley was born in Concord and was a daughter of the late Richard Jacob Franklin (Frank) Hornbuckle and Minnie Rachel Hudson Corzine. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Fred Thomas Stanley and a son, James David Stanley who was killed during WW II. She was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church.

Surviving are one daughter, Jean Stanley of Leicester; one son, Fred Thomas Stanley of Ball Ground, GA; four grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Monday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Reverend Jackie Collins officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Memorial Cemetery in Jacksonville, FL.
