Treva Pettigrew Cobb, 97, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at the Village of Brookwood. She was born in Guilford County to the late James Luther and Mary Baldwin Pettigrew and was married to the late Elmore Jennings Cobb, Jr. She retired from Cone Mills after 48 years and was of the Baptist faith. She was a member of the Eastern Star, the AIA Seniors Club in Gibsonville, did volunteer sewing work at Alamance Regional Medical Center and was an avid crocheter.
She was the 2005 Senior Citizen of the year for Alamance County.
She is survived by her sister, Mabel Pettigrew Mathews and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister, Ruby Pettigrew Lea and brothers, Herbert V. “Buck” Pettigrew, Grover C. Pettigrew and James S. Pettigrew.
A service to celebrate her life will be held 11:00 AM Friday, September 25, 2020 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Gibsonville City Cemetery. Mrs. Cobb will be available for viewing from 1:00-5:00 PM Thursday and 8:00-10:45 AM Friday.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
