Hildegard Summers
Hildegard M. Summers, 76, of Tenino, passed away at home on February 2, 2009. Hildegard was born in Koppitz, Germany to Florian and Maria Friedt January 25, 1933.
She grew up in Germany and on June 13, 1963 she married Sidney E. Summers in Erlangen, Germany. Three years later Hildegard and Sidney moved to Tumwater, Washington, and in 1972 to Tenino. In 1991 Hildegard moved back to Schirnding, Germany. Sidney stayed in the USA. They were divorced in 1991. They remarried on February 13, 2001. Sidney passed away on October 6, 2001. Hildegard went back to Schirnding and stayed until moving back to Tenino 9 months ago.Part of her adult life, Hildegard worked for the State of Washington as a Keypunch operator and spent many years as a homemaker caring for her husband and son. She enjoyed taking trips back to Germany where she visited her family.
Surviving Hildegard are her son, Rainer Summers of Tenino; a brother Hubert Friedt of Schwäbisch-Hall, Germany; and 2 sisters, Elisabeth (Friedt) Schiener, Schirnding, Germany and Ursula Friedt, Münchenreuth, Germany; and 1 grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney; her parents Florian and Maria; brothers, Alfred Friedt and Gerhard Friedt; and a sister Margarete Friedt.
