Clifford S. Brown, 82, of Vinton, passed away Tuesday, November 25, 1997.
He was employed by the Vinton Weaving Company for 39 years and retired from the Roanoke City Schools Maintenance Department.
He was an active member of Riverdale Baptist Church.
Surviving are his devoted wife of 56 years, Cornelia "Connie" T. Brown; a son and daughter-in-law, Rodney D. and Sharon G. Brown; a daughter, Andrea E. Brown, all of Roanoke; eight grandchildren, Dean and Marvin Brown, Trevor Craddock, Amy Richmond, Jeremy, Jason, Byron and J.W. Craddock; brothers, Cletus, Clarence and Lee Brown, all of N.C.; sister, Annie Younger, N.C.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's Vinton Chapel at 1 p.m. Friday, November 28, 1997, with the Rev. Robert W. Lanier and the Rev. Dr. Joe Bryant officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery with military honors by VFW Post 1264.
Friends may call at Oakey's Vinton Chapel from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
