BURLINGTON — John Albert Byrd Jr., 24, of 5359 Gattis Trail, Burlington, died Sunday, July 22, 2007 in Alamance County.
John was a loving father and a great friend to all. He worked for the public works department in Mebane for seven years, and also worked for Lowe's Home Improvement in Mebane.
Survivors include his wife, Shelley Jarrett Byrd of the home; a son, John Albert (Trace) Byrd III of the home, and was also expecting a little one in March; parents, John Albert Byrd Sr. and Jackie Miles Byrd of Burlington; sister, Kimberly Ann Byrd of Burlington; paternal grandparents, Gattis "Rabbit" Byrd and Ruth Byrd of Burlington; maternal grandfather, Vernon Miles and wife, Danez, of Burlington.
He was preceded in death by a maternal grandmother, Kathleen Johnston.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 2007, at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel at 1308 S. Third St., Mebane, N.C., by the Rev. Bruce Church. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Christian Church cemetery in Mebane. 470, John Albert Byrd Jr.
