Ruby Mai Wright Jordan Cathey was born September 1, 1924 in Eagleville, Tennessee to Andrew Dilleyhurst and Emma Sue Chrisman Wright. She lived in Eagleville during her youth and moved to Lewisburg where she lived the remainder of her life. She died in the Arbors at Willow Springs in Spring Hill at the age of 91 on Monday, June 27, 2016.

She was a member of the Mars Hall Singers in the late 1960’s, a member of the Lewisburg Women’s Club and member of the Church Street Church of Christ. She was employed with Linton Pencil Company later becoming Venus Esterbrook for over twenty years.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Jordan (Allen) Bahr of Union, Washington, Linda Jordan (Nelson) Foster of Franklin and Katherine Jordan (Jackie) Marlin of Thompson's Station, step son, Fletcher (Janette) Cathey of Lewisburg, step daughter, Emily Cathey (Curtiss) Freeland of Sumter, South Carolina, seven grandchildren, Michael L. (Kelly) Foster, Rick G. Foster, Neil (Megan) Cathey, Nathan Cathey, Beverly Anne Cathey, Julie Wilson (Drew) Reynolds, Aimee Wilson (Jamie) Chiapetta.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Jimmy Joe Jordan, her first husband, Robert Samuel Jordan, grandson, Robert Ray Foster, second husband, Wallace Dee Cathey, fourteen brothers and sisters, Dorris (Linda) Wright, Howard Eugene (Christine) Wright, James (Jim) Franklin (Jewel) Wright, William Andrew (Thelma) Wright, John Watson (Blanche) Wright, Thomas Edwin (Gwen) Wright, Roy Homer (Kathleen) Wright, Fannie Wright (Hoyle) Mosley, Pauline Wright (Ed) Thornhill, Virginia Wright (Andrew) Davidson, Cassie Mai Wright (Everett) Davis, Cora Wright (Jimmy) Robinson, Sara Wright (Roy) Rader and Annie Wright (Willie Dee) Smotherman.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of London Funeral Home with burial to follow in Head Springs Cemetery at Belfast.

The family will be at London Funeral Home Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour for visitation.
