Charles F. Jones, 84, ofMarion, IN, formerly of Van Buren, IN, passed away at 11:30 PM on Monday, March 03, 2014 at Marion General Hospital in Marion, IN.
He was born on Wednesday, December 11, 1929, in Marion, IN, the son of the late Glenn T. & Gladys P. (Van Ness) Jones. Charles married Janet Covey Jones on Thursday, September 22, 1949 in Marion, IN.
Charles had driven semi until 1980. He then worked at East Brook North Elementary School as Custodian for many years before retiring. Charles had served on the Van Buren Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed camping and being outdoors as well as spending time with family and friends. Charles and Janet had formerly attended the Van Buren Nazarene Church and had been attending the Colonial Oaks Church at the Colonial Oaks Retirement Community since moving there in 2011.

He was preceded in death by his:Father - Glenn T. Jones, Mother - Gladys P. (Van Ness) Jones, Sister - Freda Jones.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Ferguson & Glancy Funeral Home 201 N Main Street Van Buren on Thursday, March 06, 2014 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A service to celebrate Charles life will be at Ferguson & Glancy Funeral Home 201 N Main Street Van Buren at 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 06, 2014 with the Rev. Ken Thompson officiating.
Interment will follow in the Gardens of Memory inMarion.
