Obituary Online notes for Donald Paul JOHNSON
Donald Paul Johnson, 70, of House Road in Greeneville, died Monday at Johnson City Medical Center.
Mr. Johnson was a heavy equipment operator for Weems Excavating and Paving Co. and was former co-owner of J & H Paving Co.
He was of the Free Will Baptist tradition of faith.
His family states, "He was a loving husband, dad, 'Poppa,' and friend to all that knew him."
Survivors include his wife and companion of 31 years: Brenda M. Taylor Johnson; four sons and daughters-in-law: Paul and Tammy Johnson and Roger A. and Karen Johnson, all of Greeneville, Michael L. and Debbie Johnson of Afton; and Jeffery M. and Kimberly Mysinger of Chuckey; two daughters and sons-in-law: Mary M. and Dennis Cox of Elizabethton and Kimberly P. and Michael Hensley of Greeneville; 17 grandchildren: Misty Taylor, Bradley Johnson, Cody Johnson, Donnie Johnson, Jennifer Johnson, Gena Johnson, LeeAnn Wills, Joe Davis, David Davis, Michael Davis, Britney Mysinger, Danielle Barnes, Trenton Barnes, Ryan Cox, Amber Shelton, Chelsie Hensley, and Austin-Tanner Hensley; 10 great-grandchildren: Madison Taylor, Megan Taylor, Riley Johnson, Haylee Johnson, Allison Reaves, Jennifer Davis, Matthew Davis, Aubrey Bentley, Nicholas Davis, and Michael Davis Jr.; four half-sisters: Joyce Houston, Darlene Houston, Charolette Taylor, and Wanda Peterson, all of Greeneville; a half-brother: Wayne Houston of Greeneville; three sisters-in-law: Laura Johnson of Marion, Ind; Pansy Cutshall of Greeneville, and Lisa Taylor of Bunker Hill, Ind.; and his special friends: Terry and Judy Fillers, Joyce Arrington, Bobby Dean, Lecile Headrick, Ray and Lucy Taylor, Kenton Weems, and Lloyd Wallace
He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather: Mary (Johnson) and Lee Ricker; his father: Douglas M. Houston; one grandson: Eric Paul Johnson; and three brothers: Bob Johnson, Ronnie Houston Sr., and Doyle Houston.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Kiser Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 3:30 Wednesday afternoon in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Buster Shelton will officiate.
Interment will follow in Solomon Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Lecile Headrick, Terry Fillers, Kenton Weems, Timmy Ricker, Teddy Morgan, Jared Arrington, Teddy Willett, and Lewis Stroud.
