Willard, 76 of Huntington passed away on Wednesday, at Bluffton Regional Medical Center.
He worked as a machine operator at General Motors in Marion for 29 years, retiring in 1994. He had also worked at Huntington Asbestos for several years. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union #977. He had attended Lighthouse of Truth Church of God in Huntington.
He was a son of Asa F. and Mable O. (Hunt) Whitesell.
He was united in marriage to Evelyn L. Robbins on March 14, 1954 in Warren, Indiana. His wife survives. Additional survivors include a brother: Paul D. Whitesell of Huntington and a sister: Joanna L. "Rene" Miller of North Manchester.
He was preceded in death by four brothers: Albert Whitesell, Franklin Whitesell, Vaughn Whitesell, Walter Whitesell and four sisters: Martha Thorn, Ruth French, Bertha Wilson and Lily Whitesell.
Funeral service was held on Saturday, April 23, 2011 with Pastor Patrick Haskins officiating.
