Bertha E. Wilson, 73, of Huntington, died at 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Wilson, a homemaker, was a member of the American Legion Post 98 Auxiliary in Columbia City and attended the Gospel Community Church in Huntington.
She was born in Huntington County Nov. 30, 1928, a daughter of Asa F. and Mabel O. Hunt Whitesell. Her marriage on April 11, 1961 at Huntington was to Howard A. Wilson, who died Feb. 17, 1965.
Surviving are a son, Steven E. Smith of Benbrook, Texas; three daughters, Diana M. Sell of Ossian, Sheryl Spencer of Salyersville, Ky., and Joyce Flood of Huntington; a stepdaughter, Bonnie Wright of Huntington; three brothers, Walter Whitesell, Willard Whitesell and Paul Whitesell, all of Huntington; two sisters, Luetta Thorn and Reene Miller, both of Huntington; a companion, George A. Bauer of Columbia City; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Three brothers and a sister are deceased.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with Pastor Elzie Spencer officiating. Interment will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Huntington County.
Visitation hours at the funeral chapel will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
