Obituary Online notes for Ronald Lee WHITESELL
Ronald Lee Whitesell, 79, of Huntington, died Thursday, September 30, 2021, peacefully at home surrounded by family.
Ronald was born May 23, 1942 to Albert and Olive Weinley Whitesell in Huntington. He was employed for 32 years as a Test Design Engineer at MagneTek where he met his future wife. He was married November 29, 1964 to Dianna L. Johnson Whitesell in Huntington, Indiana.
He graduated from Huntington High School in 1960 where he played Varsity Football. He was a member of St. Peter's First Community Church where he spent many Thursday evening Story Hours with the young kids of the church. A 10 Year member of the Girl Scouts of America he loved assisting his wife on Girl Scout Trips and Functions. There was nothing more important to Ron than his family and making little kids smile.
He enjoyed reading J.K. Rowling, David Eddings, and Robert Jordan book series. He had a passion for designing contraptions and building parthenons, castles, and the perfect retirement home for his love, camping but not fishing and spending time with his grandkids. And remember - when you go to the store for milk you always get "free" cookies.
He is survived by his wife; his 2 daughters, Sondra (Gary) Fowler and Dawn (Steve) Williams; Sisters Karen Whitesell Conwell and Marsha (Robert) Bowers; and 3 Grandchildren, Grace Fowler, Nick (Fiance' Morgan Kappel) Williams and Garrett Fowler; and Tuffy Puppy. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gary Whitesell.
