Jack Lee Speicher, 76, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 5:40 a.m. Sunday, July 3, 2011 at Autumn Ridge Healthcare Center in Wabash.
He was born September 3, 1934 in Wabash, to Ralph and Marie (Whitesel) Speicher.
Jack was a 1952 graduate of Wabash High School. He married Hilda Jacobson at the Zion Lutheran Church in Wabash on August 9, 1958. He worked at General Tire/GenCorp in Wabash, 31 years until his retirement in 1996. Jack was a US Navy veteran. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandkids. He lived in the Roann, Indiana, area 41 years before moving to Wabash in 2005.
Jack is survived by his wife, Hilda Speicher of Wabash; three children, Mike Speicher of Roann, Jennifer (Morgan) Hobbs of Peru, Indiana, and Greg Speicher of Roann; five grandchildren, Austin Middleton of Kokomo, Indiana, Jason Middleton, Olivia Middleton, and Nick Speicher, all of Peru, and Travis Speicher of Mexico, Indiana; two great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Speicher and Bailie Speicher, both of Peru; two sisters, Marilyn (Steve) Leach of Wabash, and Gloria Clevenger of Marion, Indiana. He was preceded in death by one sister.
Funeral services will be held at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, on Friday, July 8, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Lowell Burrus officiating. Burial will be in Roann Community Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call 2-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
