Obituary Online notes for Ellis M. SMITHERS
Ellis was born to Enos and Thelma (Beardon) Smithers in Black Lake/Oswegatchie, New York. He married Virginia (Miller) Smithers on November 18, 1961, she survives. He was in the United States Air Force from 1948 to 1968, where he recieved the Air Force Commendation Medal in 1968. He worked at Celotex Corporation from 1968-1991, where he retired. He was a member of American Legion Post 0248 in Lagro, Air Force Sergeants Organization, and Retired Enlisted Association.

He is also survived by two sons, Byron E. Smithers of Lagro and Myron E. Smithers of Roann; five brothers, Wendell Harper of Chesterville, Ontario Canada, Donald, George, Quinton 'Mike', Delmar Smithers all of Ogdensburg, New York; six sisters, Jean Skidds of Ogdensburg, New York, June (Robert) Hazelton of Morley, New York, Beverly Gladele and Louise LaFave both of Lisbon, New York, Eunice Curry of Ogdensburg, New York, and Bethany Wyatt of Baltimore, Maryland; two grandchildren, Chaston Smithers & Shanna Smyth; four great grandchildren, Alexander Smithers, Zachary Smithers, Bryce Smyth, and Chloe Smyth. Three Brothers and Two Sisters preceded him in death.
