Nancy Lou Spath, 81 of Vail, Arizona and formerly of Roanoke, passed away Wednesday August 10, 2011 at 3:35 am at her residence.

She retired as a cook at Lafayette Central School where she worked for 18 years. She was a devoted Mom, Grandma and Great-grandma.

Nancy was born October 12, 1929 in Marion, the daughter of Truman J. and May Louise (Cole) Oswalt. On December 21, 1946 she married her beloved husband of 64 years William J. Spath in Huntington and he survives in Vail, Arizona.

Also surviving are a son Ronald Wayne Spath of Roanoke, 3 daughters Gloria Jean Edwards of Roanoke, Patricia Jo (Norm) Knuth of Fort Wayne, and Susan Kay (JD) Garwood of Vail, Arizona, 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and a sister Linda Poe of Punta Gorda, Florida.

She was preceded in death by 2 brothers Robert Gene Oswalt and Larry Oswalt.

Visitation will be held Saturday August 13 from 3:00 to 8:00 pm at Deal-Rice Funeral Home- Huntington Chapel. Funeral services will be Sunday August 14 at 2:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Randall DuBois officiating.

Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Roanoke.
