Berniece L. Cole Hayden, 89, formerly of rural Wabash, Indiana, died Saturday, November 5, 2005 at 10:40pm at Americare Living Center in Wabash. She was born June 18, 1916 in Wabash County to Cleon Reid and Lilly A. (Fawcet) Ball.

Berniece Marrried Luther Coe Bennet 8-14-1937 to 9-14-1947
Then married William Herman Cole on June 3, 1951; he died December 16, 1966. She then married Louis A. Hayden on June 30, 1972. She was a lifetime resident of Wabash County. Berniece was a 1934 graduate of Chippewa High School and a Manchester College graduate. She taught at Chippewa, Linlawn, and Metro North Elementary Schools. She was a former member of the Busy Bee Home Ec Club. Mrs. Hayden loved reading, ceramics, and china painting.

She is survived by her husband, Louis A. Hayden of Wabash; her son, Steven (Pam) Bennet of Marion; her granddaughter, Melissa (Mark) Pogue of Bloomington; grandson, Matthew Bennet of Marion; three great-grandsons, Trey Pogue of Bloomington, Truman and Trevor Bennet, both of Marion. She was preceded in death by a son Brian Cole who died in 1970 and 3 sisters, Helen Dyson, Dorothy Lilves, and Edna Cramer.

Funeral services will be held at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash on Wednesday, November 9, 2005 at 11:00am with Mark Pogue officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash.
