DELPHI -
Virginia Sue "Gini" Timmons, 68, of Delphi died at 10:25 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2002, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette. She was born at Portland on Oct. 14, 1933, to Derald "Red" and Edna (Alexander) Blowers. She married John C. Timmons at Spiceland on Jan. 29, 1966. He died June 23, 1972. She was a graduate of Portland High School. She formerly worked at the Delphi Telephone Company and with the merger, Alltel. She also worked at Dave's IGA and Wallmann's IGA. She was a member of Carroll County Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed needlepoint and reading. Survivors include daughters, Ellen Criswell of Philadelphia, Pa., and Linda Lingo of Daytona, Fla.; sons, George "Skip" (Peggy) Dale of Delphi and Scott Timmons of Lafayette; a brother, Bill Blowers of Portland; and two grandsons. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Davidson Funeral Home, Delphi. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ellis Gasser officiating. Burial will be at Westlawn Cemetery, Geneva. Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity. [46196]

William Arthur "Bill" Lingo, 79, 117 East Lafayette St., Portland, died unexpectedly Monday at his home.
Born July 21, 1926, in Portland, to John and Pearl (Fritz) Lingo, he married Delores Dunmoyer on Nov. 1, 1958. She died on July 24, 1989.
He later married Mary Gene (Wendel) Elick on July 27, 1994. She survives.
A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served in the Sea Bees during World War II. He retired from Teledyne Portland Forge in 1988 after 42 years of service. Memberships include American Legion Post No. 211, where he had served as Sargeant at Arms for the Honor Guard for 15 years; Portland Masonic Lodge; Portland Moose Lodge; Shrine and Scottish Rite of Fort Wayne; Asbury United Methodist Church and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Other survivors include two daughters, Ellen Chriswell, West Chester, Pa., and Linda Lingo, Orlando, Fla.; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Harold (Connie) Flanagan, Muncie, Candy Shelton, Portland, and Mrs. William (Colette) Eggert, Columbus, Ohio; a stepson, John Elick, Deland, Fla.; a brother, John Lingo, Portland; a sister, Betty Berck, Indianapolis; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services are Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Portland with Father Martin Sandhage and Pastor Greg Rittenhouse officiating. Burial will be in Green Park Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Portland American Legion Post No. 211. Visitation is Friday from 2 to 7 p.m. at the Portland Chapel of the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home with a Masonic Service at 7 p.m. Memorials may be sent to the Shriners Hospital with envelopes available at the funeral home.
