Hartford City - Claire V. Sell, 81, of Hartford City, IN, passed away Tuesday, August 10th, 2021 peacefully while in the company of family members at Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne, IN.
Claire was born in Dunkirk, IN, on July 19, 1940, a daughter of the late Garnet (Washler) and James F. Sell.
She was a 1958 graduate of Dunkirk High School and formerly worked in Gold Card Services at American Express until her retirement in 2005. Claire collected Hummel Figurines, and DVD's, loved shopping, Nicholas Cage, her cats, the beauty and simplicity of a single red rose and her Copper Hummer. She was an amazing mother and grandmother who would do anything for you, no matter what the time, special memories of her 28 years in Florida, and sending packages to her grandchildren who will forever refer to the UPS truck as "Granny's Truck".
Claire is survived by her special companion Rayford Hultz, 2 daughters; Patricia Dawn Myers, Robin (Myers) Nolley (husband Steve), 1 brother; George Sell (wife Kay), 1 sister; Sybil Holloway (husband Ronnie), 3 grandchildren; Kelley Brooks, Tad Brooks, and Bryar Nolley, 3 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother; Garnet, father; James, stepmother; Wilma, and 2 infant sisters.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 from 4-8 PM in Tabor Hall at Mt. Tabor UMC in Dunkirk, IN. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer Research, or the Parkinson's Foundation. Arrangements have been entrusted to MJS Mortuaries - Dunkirk Chapel.
