Johnnie (Zachary) Parks, 86, Lapel, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2011, in her daughters home following an extended illness.

She was born on April 3, 1924, in Livingston, TN, to John and Julie (Wright) Zachary.

She graduated from Alvin C, York Institute in Jamestown, TN in 1944.

Johnnie attended Arrow Avenue Church of God and Park Place Church of God and more recently Family Life Community Church of Pendleton.

She is survived by four children, Sandra (Gary) Moore of Carriers, Mrs. Patricia (Carl) Russell of Lapel, Julie Wood of Franklinton, LA and Jeff (Beverly) Parks of Pendleton; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ruth Owens of Jamestown, TN

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 49 years, Hubert Lavon Parks; three brothers, Thomas, Sid, and Otha Zachary; and four sisters, Peggy Wallace, 111232228 Callie Wise, Addie Graham, and Zelda Zachary.

A funeral service will be held at 1 pm Friday, Apri 1, 2011, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel. Burial will follow in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11-1pm Friday, April 1, 2011, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
