Lydia Whitesel Dies Saturday At Residence.
Mrs. Lydia Ann Whitesel, 84, passed away at her residence, 830 West Oak Street, Union City, Saturday evening following a three year illness of senility, having been seriously ill for the past five days.
She was born in Germantown, Ohio, on Nov. 1,1860, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Limbert and has been a resident of this community since childhood. She attended a school near Saratoga and was married to Perry Whitesel at Saratoga on April 5,1881. Her husband preceded her in death in 1928. Mrs. Whitesel was a member of the First Christian church in Union City.
She leaves three sons, Charles Whitesel of Union City, R.E. Whitesel of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and J.C. Whitesel of Chicago; one sister Mrs. Alice Weaner of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; a brother, Franklin Limbert of Muncie; 28 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. A daughter, Mrs. Iva Mangas died in 1920, and a son, J.Elmer Whitesel, passed away in 1941.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Christian church with Rev. W.W. Wilson officiating and burial will be in the city cemetery.
