Genevieve Margaret Summers was raised on the Erlandson Bros. farm near Castana, Iowa. She attended Dana College in Blair, NE and then graduated from Drake University in Des Moines, IA. She taught in the Greenfield Schools (IA) for more than fifty years. Gen was a member of the United Methodist Church, P.E.O. Order of Easter Star, Delta Kappa Gamma and the Young at Hearts Doll Club.
