Obituary Online notes for Margaret S. EVANS
- Margaret Somers Barber, 82, of 521 N. Scales Street, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 1996, at Annie Penn Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 29, 1996, at Main Street United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Greenview Cemetery.

She was a retired owner of DaycareCenter. She was a native of Pittsylvania County, Va., and a member of Main Street United Methodist Church, and the American Legion Auxiliary 79. She was the widow of the late William Sam Somers, former Postmaster, who died in 1949, and also the late Wiley R. Barber.

Surviving are her daughter, Nancy Walton Gibbs of Reidsville; six grandchildren, Lindsay Walton of Little River, S.C., Sammy Somers of Reidsville, Richard Ziglar of Michigan, Don Ziglar of Statesville, J.D. Somers of Richmond, Va., and Craig Somers of Greensboro; 12 great-grandchildren, including one special great-granddaughter, Lindsey Marie Walton of Little River, S.C.; and six nephews, including one special nephew, Thomas Gunn of Burlington.

The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Thursday at the Wilkerson Funeral Home, and other times at the home of the daughter, 2101 South Scales Street, Apt. 21-A.

Memorials may be made to Main Street United Methodist Church Organ Fund, 221 S. Main Street, Reidsville, N.C. 27320; or Hospice of Rockingham Co., P.O. Box 281, Wentworth, N.C. 27375.
