Donald Keith Ziglar Sr., age 81, of Statesville, passed away at Gordon Hospice House, in Statesville Wednesday, August 22, 2018.
Donald was born August 31, 1936 in Rockingham County, to the late Rev. Benjamin Holder Ziglar and Eva Grey Somers Ziglar.
Donald served in the Marine Corps 1955 - 1959, he was retired from Kewanee after 32 years as a scientific lab detailer and he was a member of Yakin Baptist Church in Statesville.
Donald is survived by his wife, Linda Ann Sloan Ziglar, two sons Donald Keith Ziglar Jr (Cheryl) of Mt Holly, Richard Allison Ziglar (Barry) of Durham; one daughter Margaret Ziglar Sloan (Scott) of Statesville; one brother, Richard Ziglar of Grand Ledge, Michigan; four grandchildren, Sarah Hoyos (Sebastion) of Rogers, Arkansas, Ben, Gabriel, Addie Sloan of Statesville; one great-grandchild, Sophia Hoyos of Arkansas; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 pm Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Yadkin Baptist Church in Statesville, 2980 Wilkesboro Hwy, Statesville, NC 28625. Rev. Tony Bunton, Rev. JB Parker Jr., and Rev Ray Raymer will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 - 3:00 pm prior to the funeral service at the church.
