BLUNK, John Herman, of Louisville, died Friday, July 30, 2004, at his residence.
He was a graduate of Male High School and the University of Louisville Speed Scientific School and a Navy veteran of World War II. He retired from the US Army Corps of Engineers and then served on the Christian Science Committee on Publication for Kentucky. He was a member of The First Church of Christ, Scientist in Boston, MA, and an active member of First Church of Christ, Scientist in Louisville,
His wife, Mary Frances Kernodle Blunk, predeceased him. His family includes his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Cassandra "Billy and Leslie Ricketts, and their daughters, Sandra Ricketts, Kay Jones, and Pam Warren, all of Greensboro, NC; sister -in-law Elizabeth "Betty"Blunk of Louisville; nieces, Louise Slaven of Louisville and Melanie Golder of New York, NY; and a nephew, William F. Marty Jr. of Carmel, IN.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, August 2, 2004, at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Lane. Visitation will be from 1-2:30 p.m. Monday preceding the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Church of Christ, Scientist in Louisville or University of Louisville Speed Scientific School 470, John Herman Blunk
