Geraldine “Jerrie” Somers Davis
BURLINGTON — Geraldine “Jerrie” Somers Davis, age 77, passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was a native of Guilford County and the wife of 56 years to Harold Love Davis who survives.
Jerrie retired after 33 years from the Employment Security Commission as a placement supervisor. She graduated from Women’s College of University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a BS degree in Chemistry.
Jerrie was a member of The First Baptist Church of Elon and a member of the Celestial Sunday School Class.
Survivors include her husband, Harold Love Davis of the home; her daughters, Kara Davis of Raleigh and Leah Davis and her husband, Bryan Kluttz of Burlington and a granddaughter, Cailin Kluttz; and brother, Ross Somers of Beaufort, South Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Edward Somers and Epsie Tesh Somers; brother, Sam Somers; and her sister, Rachel Grant.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, February 8, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Elon by the Rev. Mark Mofield and a private burial will be at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m. on Sunday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.

BURLINGTON
Harold Love Davis, 95, passed away at home on Saturday, August 29, 2026.
He was born in Person County, October 1, 1930, to Mildred Graham Davis and Lacy Green Davis, the eldest of 11 children.
Harold married Geraldine Somers Davis in January 1954 and enjoyed 56 years together before her death in February 2010.
He retired from Burlington Industries after 40 years.
Golf was a favorite pastime, as well as tennis, cycling, and running. He competed with Alamance and NC Senior Games. Harold enjoyed weaving reed baskets, and taught a basket-weaving class at ACC. Macrame, chair refinishing, and reading also kept him busy.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Elon for more than 70 years.
Daughter Kara Davis preceded him in death in June 2026.
Survivors include daughter Leah Davis and her husband Bryan Kluttz, and granddaughter Cailin Kluttz of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Also surviving are his sisters Rita Hall, Joyce Mrizek, Irma Gilly, and brothers Jeff Davis and Steve Davis.
Burial will be at Alamance Memorial Park at 2 PM on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.
