Mrs. Connie Grace Ganius Somers, 70, died Monday, October 06, 2008 at Adams Farm Living and Rehabilitation.
She was born October 4, 1938 in Duplin County, the daughter of Thurman and Tessie Williams Ganius.
She had been a self-employed Window Treatment Designer and was a member of Oakview Baptist Church, where she had been a former program Chairman of the W.M.U. Mrs. Somers had been a volunteer with Meals on Wheels and enjoyed sewing, gardening and arts & crafts. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, who loved her church.
She is preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Joyce Somers and a brother Milton Ganius.
Survivors include her husband, James E. Somers of the home; a son Greg Somers and fiancée, Lauren Johnson of Apex; three daughters, Penny Somers of Warsaw, Wendi Huffman of Greensboro and Samantha Hatcher and husband, Bobby of Walkertown; eight grandchildren, Savannah, Sydney, Hannah, Devon, Kelsey, Justin, Jordan and Melisa; two great-grandchildren. 470, Connie Grace Ganius Somers
