Hazel Hughes
MACON, Ga. — Hazel Hughes, 66, passed away Monday, May 12, 2003. Funeral services will be held Thursday at noon in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial to follow in Macon Memorial Park.
Born in Rockingham County to the late Lindsey and Mary Sutton Somers, she worked at Burlington House Fabrics as a keypunch operator in the ordered billing area for 18 years before moving to Macon in 1973.
She was a member of Bethlehem Congregational Christian Church and was preceded in death by a brother, John D. Somers.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, R. David Hughes of Macon; two daughters, Sandra Gail Tucker of Macon and Deborah Lynn Bishop of Warner Robins, a son, Robert David Hughes Jr. of Macon; two grandchildren, David Lindsey Tucker and Courtney Nicole Bishop; two sisters, Betty Jean Hines of Brookneal, Va., and Mary Frances Cook of Gibsonville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and may be contacted at 4420 S. Beechwood Drive, Macon.
