Obituary Online notes for “Butch” Lloyd Eugene WELCH
WINCHESTER - Lloyd E. Welch, 86, "Butch" to his friends and family, passed away quietly at his home Friday April 27, 2007.

He was born December 7 1920, to the late Paul and Rhoda Thornburg Welch, and spent his entire life as a farmer in Randolph County.

He had an active public life, serving as President of the Randolph Co. Dairy Association, an elected member of the advisory board of the Wayne Township Trustee's Office, member of the Randolph Eastern School Board from 1957-1966, and a member of the Union City Elks Club for 50 yrs. His many interests included his farm, playing golf, bowling, bridge, and an occasional poker game.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy Moberly Welch, Winchester, IN; a son, Michael Lloyd (wife, Judy) Welch, Albany, IN; daughters, Susan Jean Welch, Noblesville, IN, and Cynthia Kathleen Welch, Muncie, IN; 5 grandchildren, Michael Benjamin (wife, Farah) Welch, Laura Kridle, Tyler Lesh, Megan Lyons, and Erin Lyons; 6 great grandchildren, Cody, Kylie, Caroline, Julien, Lenore, and Kayden; brother, Eldon (wife, Donna) Welch; sisters, Helen (husband, Dave) Cunningham, Annabeth St. Myers (Dale-preceded), Joyce (husband, Al) Hurley; and 1 sister-in-law, Ruth Welch; nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his 1st wife, Dorothy Redman Welch; his brother, Wilmer Welch; and his grandson, Andrew James Welch.

Visitation will be Monday April 30, 2007 from 4-7 p.m. at the Reichard Funeral Home Inc., 400 W. Deerfield Rd. Union City, IN.

Services will be held Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at the Bartonia United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Esther Kershaw officiating. There will also be 1 hour of calling before the service.

Burial will follow at the Spartansburg Cemetery, Spartansburg, IN.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Bartonia United Methodist Church or Reid Memorial Hospice with envelopes available at the Funeral Home.
