OBITUARY:

"Donald E. Welch, 84, 216 E Washington St., died 07 Oct 1996, at his home. He was born 14 Aug 1912 in Greensfork Twp., Randolph Co. to Charles and Martha Frazier Welch. He was a former farmer and former Randolph Co., deputy recorder. He retired as senior vice president of Peoples Loan and Trust Bank in 1976 after 36 yrs and was still active on the board of directors for the Liberty Fund and was a former councilman on Winchester and Randolph Co. councils. He also was a member of the Lynn North Main Street Church and a former member of the Winchester Lions Club.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Mary Chenoweth Welch; two daughters, Carolyn Bradshaw of Brazil, IN, and Kathy Welch of Lynn; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral was in Winchester with buial in Spartanburg Cemetery."
