Burlington- Mr. H. Vernon Massey, 78, of 2747 Mine Creek Rd. passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a period of declining health.

He was born November 6, 1928 in Alamance County to the late William Felix and Lillian Walker Massey.

He was the husband of 56 years to the late May Joy Hilliard Massey who preceded him in 2006.

He was former co-owner and operator of Massey Brothers Construction and was of the Primitive Baptist faith.

Survivors include three sons, Greg Massey and his wife, Barbara of Burlington; Ricky Massey and his wife, Teresa of Burlington; and Daren Massey of Burlington; two grandchildren, Katie Snider and Christy Massey; a brother, Daniel Massey and a sister Valeree Byrd, both of Burlington; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Wilbur Lee Massey.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday May 26, 2007 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Elder Richard Kirby, Elder Gleason Worrell, and Elder David Anderson. Interment will follow at Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
