January 31, 1940 ~ February 12, 2024 (age 84)
Peggy Jean Davis Mabrey, 84, of Burlington, NC passed away at her residence on Monday, February 12, 2024.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Ralph Victor Mabrey, Jr. and the daughter of George Washington Davis and Mary Edna Durham Davis, both deceased. She owned and operated an in-home daycare for many years and was a member of Burlington Baptist Church.
Survivors include three children, Bonnie Wheeley and husband Timothy, George Mabrey, and Jimmy Mabrey, all of Burlington; six grandchildren, Christopher Wade, Vicki Moon, Michael Wade, Kenney Scott Wade, Matthew Mabrey, and Ashley Mabrey; four great grandchildren, Tyler Tuck, Layla Brook, Colten, and Zadyn; and two sisters-in-law, Jane Allred and Pamela Temple. She was preceded in death by a brother, George Lee Davis.
A graveside service will be conducted at Pine Hill Cemetery on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. by Preacher Dennis Boone with the family receiving friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service.
