Carol Byalick Smith

Carol Byalick Smith, 76, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at the Hospice Home surrounded by her family.

She was born on May 10, 1946 in Bronx, NY to the late Samuel Byalick and Hilda Solomon Byalick and was married to her childhood sweetheart, the late Rommie “RC” Colombus Smith, who died on October 12, 2022.
 
Carol retired after many years with the New York City School System as a teacher’s assistant. She enjoyed shopping, cooking and sewing but most of all she loved spending time with her family.  Carol was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and considered her neighbors as family. 

She is survived by a son, Dr. Richard Smith and wife Michelle; a daughter, Dr. Tracy Smith Pennington and husband Wes; grandchildren that she adored, Hannah Nicole, Luke Colton, Nathaniel James, Jeremy Ryan, Caroline Dare and Nicholas Bryce; siblings, her twin sister, Beverly Franklin, Emmanuel “Manny” Byalick and wife Barbara, Marion Byalick-Engel and husband Michael, and Bullet Byalick; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a brother, Jack Barry Byalick. 

A graveside service will be held at 3:30pm Sunday, January 15, 2023 at Bethlehem Christian Church Cemetery by Rev. Jeff Smith. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7pm Saturday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory.
